We are now in Eastern Bavaria at the intersection of the Danube, Naab and Regen rivers. A charming city with pastel colored buildings and a spectacular cathedral; however it is super hot today

Unfortunately we had to switch ships today due to low water levels so it was a day of long bus rides again.  Not my style but we still had a great time touring Nuremberg and a fantastic lunch of their local finger sausages, sauerkraut, potato salad, rye bread and beer or wine.   Perhaps it was the plan by Viking, as we were all in a food and booze coma on the bus to our next destination Passau.

Nuremberg is a city of rich but troubled history as it was the site of huge Nazi rallies and later Nuremberg trials.

Now a peaceful and beautiful city known for its successful industries, Christmas market and sausages, to name a few.

The Cathedral

Bamberg did not disappoint but since it was the weekend, it was super packed with tourists eating ice cream. Why not!
