If all goes well, Janice and I will be in Iceland on Thursday. We have our negative COVID tests, preregistration and suitcases full of winter cloths. Now let's hope the weather is good enough in Iceland for our flight.

Well we made it back, but it wasn't easy. Egyptair in Larnaca, Cyprus interpreted the US COVID requirements incorrectly making us take a last minute rapid test at the airport (we already had a PCR test the day prior) causing us to almost miss our flight. This was our sixth test for the three weeks of travel. After a three-hour layover in Cairo, we were finally on our way to DC. The flight was long (11+ hrs) , kids crying, crowded and the staff made no effort to clean bathrooms. To top it off I had a horrific headache, so needless to say I was so happy to get home. Would I do it again? Yes, but only after a long break to recuperate. COVID and staff shortages have definitely made things more difficult. For now, I relish in the memories of an amazing trip. Thanks to Paul for being such a great travel companion.

Greeted with a beautiful sunrise when I got home

Gerogina turns 70 today and invited us to breakfast with her sister and brother-in-law. A great treat for us and we couldn't think of a better way to say goodbye to Cyprus and it's amazing people.
