A Man and His Beer: Guinness in Doolin, Ireland

Laurie Hull

A man sitting alone on a bar stool, stares at his full pint of Guinness as if in deep meditation.  Slowly he brings this cold, dark, frothy drink to his lips for the first taste.  Satisfied and content, his upper lip lined with the tan froth of this dark ale, he lowers it again to the bar staring straight ahead as if thanking the gods of good beer.  Too bad I don’t drink beer, because it looks like such a deep and satisfying ritual here.
